The State unit of the BJP is gearing up for displaying its strength during the programme of BJP national president Amit Shah here on July 4. Earlier, the programme had been scheduled for June 23, but Shah’s visit was postponed due to the Presidential Polls.
After Shah’s visit was finalised, the party’s State-level leaders visited the city and chose the venue for a convention. Shah would hold discussions with the booth committee members on July 4 at Hugulapata and return to Brahmapur and address the Samavesh of the booth functionaries. Besides, there are plans for a meeting at Ambapua’s Vivek Vihar. It has been planned to bring 20 to 40 activists to the meeting. While the BJP president is brought by road from Hugulapata plans are there to give him a reception.
As after a long gap, the BJP is holding a meeting in the city, everybody’s eyes are on the event; and as the BJP national president is attending it importance is being attached to it due to political reasons. As Central Ministers and hundreds of party activists are scheduled to attend it, it is a challenge for the BJP to make it a success. Among others, party State spokesperson Sajjan Sharma, general secretary Bhrugu Buxipatra, Ganjam district in-charge Golaka Mohapatra, Ganjam district president Kanhu Charan Pati and many other leaders were present.
