The State BJP camp is geared up for the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister and head of BJP national campaign committee Narendra Modi, who would come to Puri for darshan at the temple of lord Jagannath on July 16.

Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said that the party has sent a request letter to Modi to attend a rally organised by the State BJP on October 20. If Modi accepts the request, the rally would be organised, he informed.

The State BJP leaders and workers are quite enthusiastic to receive Modi as it would be Modi’s first trip to the State post his elevation as chief of the party’s national campaign committee. “The leaders and workers of the party would certainly be happy to see a top leader like Modi, who is internationally famous for his good governance. It would create confidence among the workers of the party,” said senior leader and former Minister Biswabhushan Harichandan.

As per a tentative programme, Modi will arrive at the Biju Patnaik Airport at 11 am on July 16 and from there he will straight move to Puri for the darshan of lord Jagannath. He is also likely to visit the Srimandir for darshan of Goddesses Vimala and Mahalakshmi, sources said.
