The Ganjam BJP Krushka Morcha held a meeting under chairmanship of Morcha leader Rabi Rath here on Tuesday to discuss the problems of farmer and their solutions.
Discussions were held on the different programmes held by Morcha on the farmers’ issues and their solutions and to strengthen the Morcha.
Morcha district convenor Saroj Sahu informed that a mass demonstration would be held in front of the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on September 18 on the demands of waiver of agriculture loans and to give interest-free loan to farmers.
Sahu said the BJD Government has failed to solve the problems of farmers. Many farmers are not able to repay their loans, for which they are committing suicide.
He also said the State Government has failed to provide the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy to farmers but on the other hand is demanding that the Centre increase the MSP.
Among others, general secretary Arun Padhi, Sasmita Mishra, Nursingha Prasad Mishra, T Purshotam Dora, Kirtan Badtya, Hrudaya Mohanty, Chandrapani Panigrahi, Mahanta Chinamyanand Maharaj, Banaja Panda, Santosh Kumar Behera, S Raghunath Patra, Sarat Pradhan, Santosh Pradhan and Nilachal Mahapatra were present.
