BJP flays Odisha role in Delhi Odia woman rape case

Published on:

Condemning the sexual assault on an Odia girl in New Delhi, the State BJP women leaders on Wednesday criticised the Delhi Government for failing in curbing the increasing violence against women in the national capital.

BJP leaders criticised the Odisha Government for keeping mum over the issue after giving a phone call to the Delhi Commissioner. The Odisha Chief Minister should discuss the issue with his Delhi counterpart, they added.

In Odisha more than 14 per cent more women atrocity cases were reported during 2012. Three-year-old baby girls to 60-year-old women are being raped in the State, they added.

They demanded that the State Government set up Mahila Desks in all police stations in the State by which women could feel secure to lodge complaints.       PNS
