The BJD, which is using official machinery and the administration for the Dhamnagar by-election, has now even dragged Union Minister Amit Shah into the poll politics and hatched a conspiracy by circulating fake videos and audios in this connection, alleged the BJP on Friday.
A BJP delegation led by party general secretary LekhashriSamantsinghar lodged a complaint at the Bhubaneswar Cyber police station over the viral audios involving the by-poll.
The BJP alleged that a fake and doctored audio clip has been released through social media platforms by BJD functionaries about the alleged meeting between Union Home Minister Shah and Independent candidate Rajendra Kumar Das.
The BJP said the fact of the matter is no such meeting ever took place.
“Circulation of such fake audio is violation of poll code of conduct. The BJD is committing criminal activities to win the Dhamnagar by-election,” said senior BJP leader Pitambar Acharya.
This sinister and mischievous attempt to malign the personal image of Shah and the office of Home Minister of India by the BJD is reprehensible, he said.
