BJP members on Friday filed an FIR at the Nuapada police stations against the BDO of Nuapada block for framing of incorrect documents, cheating, forgery and defamation.
It is learnt that the BDO, while issuing work orders for construction of houses to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), had instructed the beneficiaries to fix a plaque after completion of house mentioning "Biju Pucca Ghar" instead of PMAY, "The programme has been launched by the Central Government; why should the BDO name it as “Biju Pucca Ghar", asked Kamalesh Dikshit, the petitioner.
Under the PMAY, the selected beneficiaries are provided financial support of Rs 1.30 lakh for construction of a house. Payment is made in four instalments. The work orders issued to beneficiaries in Nuapada, Komna, Boden and Sinapali blocks state that the fourth instalment of Rs 30,000 would be paid after roof casting, colouring and fixing of the plaque stating “Biju Pucca Ghar”. The BJP objecting to the fixing of such a plaque has said the Naveen Patnaik Government is trying to hijack the programmes of the Central Government by giving the name of Biju.
"We will also file FIRs in Komna, Boden and Sinapali blocks tomorrow," said BJP Krushak Morcha district president Sanjay Tiwari.
