Even as the prime accused in the Tarabha youth murder case in Dhenkanal district was arrested on Monday, the BJP demanded arrest of local MlA and Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick holding him as the main conspirator in the murder of BJP worker Salman Rout.
“Minister Prafulla Mallick is the chief conspirator in the Tarabha youth murder case.
He should be arrested immediately and brought under the purview of the police probe,” BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma told reporter here.
He demanded that the call details of the Minister and prime accused Byomkesh Biswal, an OSAP constable, be examined by the police to ascertain the links between them.He said the BJP would hold demonstrations in all subdivisions across the State on Tuesday to press its demand.
On the other hand, Minister Mallick termed the allegations levelled against him as baseless and said he is open to face any probe.
“Neither I nor the BJD believes in politics of revenge. I am ready to face any sort of probe,” said Mallick.
