BJP demands goat farmer Parbati's security

The BJP on Friday demanded that the administration ensure protection for goat farmer Parbati Sasmal of Kalikuda village under Jagatsinghpur district’s Erasama block and alleged that she is still apprehensive of attacks from BJD supporters.

“Parbati was attacked by BJD supporters as her goats grazed on a Government land. She was attacked again when she returned home after handing over a complaint sheet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar. Her life is at stake as BJD leaders have become intolerant of her support to the BJP and Modi. The administration should ensure adequate protection to her,” demanded BJP State Secretary Dr lekhashree Samantsinghar at a Press conference here.

Stating that she had met DGP KB Singh on Thursday, Samantsinghar said, “It is very lamenting that the DGP told me that he didn’t know about the incident,”She alleged further that the BJD Government is using police to snatch away constitutional rights of people to oppose it and to support a popular party like BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Among others, State secretary Dillip Mallick, spokesperson Sudipta Ray and State executive member Padmaja Debata were present.
