BJP workers led by Gate Bazar Mandal president Jagadananda Das staged a demonstration here and burnt an effigy of Minister Sanjay Dasburma protesting his involvement in the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam.
Around 300 BJP workers chanting slogans against Dasburma demanded his resignation from the Ministry. They said that on the one hand, the BJD Government and its Ministers are directly involved in the chit fund scam and on the other hand, the Government has created a corpus fund with an assurance to return money to depositors which is a sheer eyewash as not a single depositor has yet been paid back money.
The BJP workers alleged that several Ministers, MlAs and MPs including Dasburma of the BJD are reportedly involved in the chit fund scam.
Dusburma has remained in the target of opposition parties since last one year for his controversial role in the irregularities in preparation of ration card beneficiaries’ list flouting the NFSA modalities.
