BJP demands B'pur vendors' rehab

The Ganjam BJP unit on Wednesday demanded that the district administration rehabilitate the small vendors of Brahmapur before evicting them. The BJP members said that due to small roadside vendors like tea and newspaper sellers in the bus-stand, intellectuals and senior citizens of the city are getting benefit.

They also alleged that the Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has been evicting them repeatedly by which the civic body not only harms their business and break the financial backbone of their families.

The BJP members demanded that the BeMC rehabilitate the vendors who have been evicted repeatedly. A memorandum was also submitted to the BeMC Commissioner in this regard. Among others, BJP district president Kanhu Charan Pati, Rama Kumar Patro, Pravat Sadangi, N Rajendra Kumar, Bikash Panigrahi, Sidhanta Gangadev, Sunil Sahu, Ranjit Sahu and Kiran Sahu were present.
