BJP demands action against Kandhamal seer's killers

Published on:

State BJP vice-president Pratap Sarangi on Saturday expressed grave concern over the apathetic attitude of the State Government in taking stringent action against the murderers of Kandhamal seer Swami laxmanananda Saraswati.

On the occasion of the seventh death anniversary of the seer, Sarangi alleged that the Government has no interest at all to arrest the accused and take action against them.

He said Swami laxmanananda’s contribution towards agriculture, education, reformation and work on drinking water issue cannot be forgotten, and for this the people of Kandhamal district highly respect him. But the seer was killed in a planned way by some conspirators on the Janmastami day, he said.

“If the State Government doesn’t take any immediate steps in the murder case, people’s collective anger will create problem for the Government,” he warned.
