A BJP delegation comprising Khariar MlA Hitesh Bagarti, Umesh Khandelwal and Anil Dhir visited Sunari Sikuan village to meet the family of Baikuntha Sabar. last week, Sabar had killed his wife Munga Sabar in a fit of rage and then fled.
His body was found hanging from a tree in a nearby forest. Sabar was a landless poverty-ridden tribal, who worked as a daily wager.
With mother dead and father having gone underground, four daughters, including Savitri Sabar (9), Jagyasini Sabar (8), Dilleswari Sabar (6) and Mamata Sabar (18 months) and the couple’s old parents, have been left alone with no one to look after them. The children are severely malnourished and in a state of shock and trauma.
The old helpless grandparents are in no condition to take care of the three children and the infant girl. The villagers are feeding the children and taking care of the old parents.
BJP delegation rendered immediate help to the family and took up the matter with the district administration for a swift and early rehabilitation of the children.
