A team of BJP Ganjam district functionaries headed by district president Bijay Kumar Swain and general secretary Sunil Kumar Sahu, after visiting the Phailin and flood-affected areas of the district extensively on Monday, alleged that the relief materials meant for the victims are being distributed on partisan basis.
The BJP leaders demanded that the ongoing relief distribution on party lines be stopped forthwith.
It may be recalled that a large number of the Phailin and flood victims of Ganjam and Chhatrapur blocks last week also made similar allegations before senior BJP leader and former Assembly Deputy Speaker Rama Chandra Panda when he visited the affected areas.
The BJP team also demanded supply of adequate relief materials such as rice, dal, chuda, gur, kerosene and polythene to all the victims and waver of loans, free supply of good quality seeds to farmers, provision of Indira Awases to all the victims and reconstruction of roads and buildings within a stipulated timeframe, failing which the BJP would resort to a mass movement, said president Swain.
