BJP on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik holding him responsible for the murder of Itishree Pradhan. Addressing a press meet here, senior BJP leader Biswa Bushan Harichandan said that the Crime Branch probe is an eye wash and is aimed at suppressing the issue.
Despite Itishree’s appeal to the CM, DGP, district Collector and SP for justice and protection, nobody came to her aid. Alleging that the CM and DGP were involved in the incident, Harichandan demanded CBI probe to unearth the truth and bring the guilty persons to book.
He also demanded that Patnaik and DGP Prakash Mishra should step down owning moral responsibility as both of them have miserably failed to protect the poor UP school teacher. The BJP leader further alleged that law and order has completely collapsed in the State and women are not safe under Naveen Patnaik regime.
