Claiming that the high turnout in the first phase polls in the State has gone in the favour of his party, BJP State spokesperson Suresh Pujari on Sunday said the party would win at least six of the 10 lok Sabha seats in the western and southern regions which went to polls on April 10.
“People want a change at the Centre and in the State. They have rejected the incompetent Governments,” he said at a Press conference here.He said that as per the feedback of BJP leaders, the party is confident of winning the Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Brahmapur seats. In an attack on BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, Pujari said the Chief Minister is playing minority card in the second phase polls after knowing that the BJD has bitten the dust in the first round of elections.
Referring to the statement of Global Peace Initiative president Dr KA Paul, who appealed to the people to vote for the BJD to make Naveen Patnaik the Prime Minister of India, Pujari said the so-called secular image of Patnaik stands exposed.Patnaik is now playing minority card to woo the Christian community while claiming to have been an epitome of secularism, Pujari said, adding that Patnaik’s “false secular face” would be exposed once the Kandhamal Commission report comes out.
He also criticised the Chief Minister for not taking any action against the people who were responsible for the Kandhamal riots in 2008.
