The BJP State unit on Sunday held a joint meeting of its MlAs and new office-bearers and chalked out strategies to corner the BJD Government in the Budget Session of the Assembly beginning on Tuesday.
The meeting which was attended by senior party leaders, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Thawar Chand Ghelot, party State in-charge Arun Singh and president Basant Panda, however, was not attended by three MlAs, KV Singh Deo, Dilip Ray and Duryodhan Majhi.
“Issues like potato price rise, deteriorating law and order situation, tender fixing, ration card irregularities among many burning issues will be raised in the Assembly,” said party president Panda.
He said starting from the block level to the Water Resources Department tender-fixing is rampant. “Ruling party MlAs and Ministers are involved in the scam. Hence, a CBI inquiry or a SIT probe headed by a sitting High Court judge should be done,” said Panda.
This was the first meeting of the legislators and new office-bearers after Panda was appointed as the party State chief. The party also condemned the scam in the Odisha Knowledge Corporation ltd (OKCl).
