The BJP Brahmapur district unit observed the party’s 36th foundation day here on Monday with senior leader Nanda Kishore Sahu and youth leader Shiva Shankar Das attending the event as chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.
The function, chaired by BJP district president Bijay Kumar Swain, was attended by BJP district general secretary Sunil Sahu, vice-president Bishnu Prasad Panda, Mahanagar president Dr Bhavani Shankar Das, and BMC Corporator Dr Namitarani Panda, among others. The speakers deliberated on the party’s ideals and principles and contributions of great leaders like Bharat Ratna Awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee, lalkrishna Advani, Janasangha Founder Syams Prasad Mookerjee and Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
They also exhorted party workers to work united in order to strengthen party’s position at grassroots level and reach out to the doorsteps of people.
Noted trade union leader and social worker Rajendra Nayak along with his supporters from Ward-38 joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
