BJP blames State Govt on IIM location issue

Senior BJP leader and a resident of Sambalpur town Suresh Pujari has said that if the BJD Government really wants to establish IIM at Sambalpur, let it write to the Government of India to withdraw the conditions of airport and fast-moving trains.

“There is no problem for the State Government to request the Centre to withdraw these two conditions,” he said.

Pujari was reacting to the statements of two BJD MlAs of the district, Rohit Pujari and Dr Raseswari Panigrahi, blaming the Centre for such conditions for location of the proposed IIM in Odisha.

The BJP leader wanted to know who authorised State Technical Education Secretary CS Kumar to ask about the distance of the airport from the IIM location. Were the Secretaries of five other States present at the concerned Delhi meeting fools, he asked.

Suresh Pujari further suggested sending of a State House Committee to Delhi regarding the change of the conditions and making them more flexible.

He also wanted to know whether the Central Government has asked the Odisha Ggovernment to recommend three places or Bhubaneswar alone.

When the rest five State Government recommended for places other than State capitals, what makes the Odisha Government to select Bhubaneswar s the only location, he asked.
