The BJP on Sunday alleged that BJD leaders’ interference in schools, colleges and universities has damaged the study atmosphere and careers of students, and the resignation of the Ravenshaw University Vice-Chancellor Dr Prakash Sarangi is a burning example of it.

BJP State vice-president Samir Mohanty said the Ravenshaw VC has indirectly indicated that he has submitted his resignation for continued interference of BJD leaders that has led to students unrest in the the eminent educational institute of the State and the Country.

“The BJP had been alleging that BJD leaders’ intrusion has created uproars and damaged studious atmospheres in in college campuses. The Ravenshaw VC’s resignation has proved the allegation true,” said Mohanty.

He blamed Cuttack-Choudwar MlA Pravat Ranjan Biswal for the uproar in the Ravenshaw University.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthy Parishad (ABVP) demanded that there should not be any political intervention in the Ravanshaw University affairs. The differences between students and the University authorities can be resolved if the Executive Council would have student representatives.

“The academic ambience in the Ravenshaw University has been affected due to political interference. An impartial probe should be conducted to resolve the problems,” demanded Ravenshaw Students Union former secretary Abhilap Panda.
