Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan on Tuesday made a scathing attack on the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre alleging that it has failed to bring “Achche Din”.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises of bringing back black money, pulling down prices of essential commodities and giving better prices to farmers have gone into dustbin,” Harichanda alleged at a Press conference held.

He too lashed out at the Naveen Patnaik Government stating that it has failed to provide good governance in the last one year.

The Congress attack came in the wake of the NDA Government and the BJD completing one year in office. “The State Government has succeeded only in two fronts, one is managing BJP and another is silencing the CBI. Resultantly, the inquiry in chit fund scam has slowed down,” pointed out Harichandan.

He said the Chief Minister has failed to govern the State, leading to multi-organ failure in the administration.

He said the Modi Government’s promise to create 250 million jobs over the next 10 years with an average of 25 million per year has failed. “A labour bureau survey has revealed that 1.17 lakh new jobs were created in eight sectors between October and December. Where is the 2.5 crore job creation a yearIJ” he wanted to know.

“Narendra Modi's 'Suit Boot ki Sarkar' is against the common people. It is only favouring a few crony capitalists and trading partners,” he alleged, adding that the Central Government has slashed social sector spending by a whopping Rs1.75 lakh crore in one year alone.

Replying to a question, the PCC chief said many Union Ministers are involved in criminal cases and 21 of them have been chargesheeted so far.

Harichandan ridiculed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s recent statement that the State would genuinely get Rs 3 lakh crore from mining sector. “When the State deserves to get Rs3 lakh crore, then why the Central Government has deducted Rs66258.44 croreIJ” Harichandan wanted to know.
