The BJP would continue to fight until the last eligible beneficiary in the State gets a pucca house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Alleging that the BJD Government is distributing PMAY houses to its party workers, BJP State president Samir Mohanty on Thursday accused the Government of suppressing voices of dissent using police and the Government machinery, the victims especially being those who are opposing these irregularities. Mohanty told reporters that in a recent incident a poor eligible beneficiary of Kuber gram panchayat under the Tihidi block in Bhadrak district was attacked by BJD workers with the support of Government employees. Many in these areas though are eligible have been deprived of getting PMAY houses. Mohanty had visited the village on Wednesday with a party delegation and interacted with locals. Eight families in Bhandaripokhari have not got house s though they are eligible, Mohanty said.
