BJP activists flaunt black flag to Naveen

Published on:

In a tit-for-tat, the BJP workers in Dhenkanal district greeted BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with black flags a day after the ruling party workers in Bargarh pelted stones at the convoy of the Union Minister for Textile and Handloom Santosh Gangwar.

Though the district police detained a group of BJP workers ahead of Chief Minister’s visit to Gandia to inaugurate a slew of welfare projects, the activists of the saffron party managed to show black flags to Patnaik when he was on its way to inaugurate the Gaandia Branch Canal of the Rengali Irrigation project.

Elaborate security arrangements were in place for the Chief Minister’s visit at the venue and the route he travelled.

Meanwhile, the BJP workers protested the unsavoury behaviour of some BJD supporters in Baragarh by wearing black badges in some parts of the State.
