BJP accuses 2 Cuttack MlAs of chit links

The BJP here on Sunday trained its gun on two BJD MlAs of Cuttack city accusing them of having links with the chit fund scam, multiple allotments of plots and mafias in the State.

The two MlAs, Debashis Samantray and Pravat Biswal, were in the firing line of the State BJP leaders, who were here to declare the office bearers of the party’s district working committee.

Addressing a Press conference, BJP leaders accused Samantray for having links with mafia Dhalasamant brothers and made a scathing attack on Biswal alleging that the Cuttack-Choudwar MlA was involved in chit fund scam, received multiple plots from Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and was involved in tender fixing in association with crime syndicate.

The Party has decided to submit memorandums to the CBI, Vigilance DG and Crime Branch DG urging all the agencies to bring the two MlAs under the purview of the respective investigations, informed State BJP treasurer Binod Dash. “We will also submit a memorandum to the Cuttack district Collector highlighting the civic problems of the city,” Dash said.

Former Corporator laxmidhar Pradhan has been elected as the president of the city BJP working committee. Similarly, Manoranjan Sahoo, Minaketan Das and Subashis Kar would be the secretaries for a term of three years. While Diptee Narayan Sahoo will be the treasurer, the party has picked up eight leaders each as vice presidents and joint secretaries.
