Paralakhemundi BJP MLA K Narayan Rao and Mohana Congress MLA Dasarathi Gamanga, Zilla Parishad President Anitarani Bheira and all BJP and Congress ZP members boycotted the Gajapati District Planing Committee (DPC) meeting held here on Sunday.
They all alleged that projects are being undertaken at the behest of ruling BJD leaders and they (BJP and Congress representatives) are being taken into confidence.
“The ruling party is interfering in all developmental works. BJP and Congress ZP members are not being consulted for such works. While the district administration is acting at the behest of BJD leaders, people’s representatives of opposition parties are not getting opportunities to do developmental works,” alleged Rao.
However, the DPC meeing continued under the chairmanship of its Chairman and Minister Jagannath Saraka. Discussions were held on the projects listed for 2019-20 and budgetary allocations.
Among others, Brahmapur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, district Collector Anupam Saha and DRDA PD Saroj Behera were present.
