The BJP leadership on Sunday removed Sukanta Kumar Dwibedy from the post of president of the party’s Kendrapada district unit.
Dwibedy is a prominent supporter of the party’s dissident senior leader Bijay Mohapatra in the district. Notably, a couple of days back, the alleged antiparty activities of Mohapatra, a party national executive member, have been apprised to party national president Amit Shah by BJP State president Basanta Panda in a letter.
Both Mohapatra and Dwibedy had stayed away from a recent meeting in Kendapada district where several local leaders of other political parties joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Dwibedy was stripped of the party post by party State chief Basanta Panda, informed BJP State vie-president Sameer Mohanty.
