BJD youth accuses senior Ghadai of harassment

Social activist and BJD youth leader of Sukinda area Surjit Rout on Tuesday accused Sukinda MlA and former Finance Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai of harassing him mentally and physically with political motive.

“It is a fact that BJD supporters of Sukinda area are now upset with the activities of Ghadai. For the sake of his political career and interest, he is harassing party workers, who have good reputation in the area, and is even implicating them in false police cases,” Rout told a Press conference here.

“Ghadai with the help of Subas Rana, son of Debendra Rana who had given his kidney to Ghadai a couple of years ago, implicated me in a false police case to tarnish my image,” Rout further alleged.

“Subas lodged a complaint at the Kaliapani police station on December 12 alleging that I attacked him. Since Subas lodged the complaint at the behest of Ghadai, the police taking prompt action arrested me and forwarded me to court,” said Rout.

Stating that the allegation of attack was not true, Rout questioned, “How a person who sustains multiple injuries including severe head injury is able to ride motorcycle without any hesitation just after 10 days after the accidentIJ”

Rout said he would soon meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to apprise him about the issue. Besides, he also threatened to move the Odisha Human Rights Commission against police action without any investigation.
