BJD workers continue anti-Baijayant drive

Published on:

After their counterparts of Nischintakoili, Mahakalpada, Salepur and Kendrapada blocks, many more BJD activists from Rajnagar and Pattamundai in Kendrapada district met BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Friday and complained against Kendrapada BJD MP Baijayant Panda.

They alleged that Panda is not keeping in touch with party workers and not consulting them while allocating MPlAD funds for welfare projects in the constituency and promoting opposition party workers and working against the BJD.

They submitted a memorandum regarding their complaints to Patnaik, who later told reporters that he has received the memorandum and has passed it on to the party’s district observer Pramilla Mallick to look into it.

However, Mallick on Friday said she has been trying to contact Panda since last two days but has failed to do so. She also informed the MP’s political secretary regarding the matter, but still could not manage to contact the MP.

She further said she has spoken to panchayat and block-level leaders; and after the probe is completed, she would submit the findings to the party supremo on Saturday.

However, Panda’s political secretary refuted all the allegations against the MP and said the party workers are always well-informed and consulted regarding the MPlAD projects. More than `3 crore has been sanctioned for projects in the constituency, he added.
