The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) would protest against Andhra Pradesh’s Polavaram project on Thursday in four southern districts of Odisha.
The BJD would hold hartal and stage dharna in the districts of Koraput, Malakangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.
A preparatory meeting was held by BJD leaders of the four districts on Tuesday to chalk out the final plan for the hartal. In Koraput, BJD district president Jayaram Pangi, MP Jayaram Pangi, observer Bijay Kumar Nayak and spokesperson former Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda conducted the meeting to finalise the protest plan. At Jeypore, a bicycle rally was organied by BJD youth workers led by Dharmendra Adhikari protesting the Polavaram project.
“We will fight against Polavaram till the last drop of our blood,” said Rabi Narayan Nanda.
