The ruling BJD, which is on the back foot over the chit fund scam, is all set to celebrate its 17th foundation day on a massive scale across the State on Friday.
While party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address a gathering at State capital, Ministers and MlAs have been asked to make the celebration a success at the district and constituency levels.Party spokesperson Amar Satpathy told reporters that public meetings would be organised at all the district headquarters to mark the occasion. Ministers, MlAs and senior leaders have been asked to highlight the Government’s achievements and various schemes meant for betterment of poor and downtrodden people.
Preparations were at final stage in the capital city with three MlAs of Bhubaneswar focusing on gathering of a huge crowd.Bhubaneswar (Central) MlA Ashok Panda on Thursday also held a discussion with party workers at his residence to take stock of the preparations.The party has decided to celebrate its foundation day in a big way ahead of BJP national president Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to the State on January 6 and 7.
