Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday reiterated the BJD’s stand that the party would go it alone in elections keeping equidistance from the BJP and the Congress.
The BJD would continue seeking people’s support on the basis of its Government’s welfare schemes for them, Patnaik said in reply to a question at a literary function here.
Responding to a query if he aims at breaking late West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu’s record of remaining in power for 20 long years, Patnaik said he does not believe in such “statistics”.
In reply to another question, Patnaik virtually pulled up his Ministerial colleague Damodar Rout for the latter’s disparaging public statement against women Anganwadi Workers.
Such remarks are not in good taste, he meant to say. “I have spoken to the Minister (in this regard), he said, adding that he himself always refrains from taking anyone’s name in this manner in his statements.
