BJD to disintegrate fast, says Pradhan

Buoyed by joining of increasing numbers of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) members in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the wake of the saffron party’s impressive results in the recent panchayat elections, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday predicted that the State’s ruling party would disintegrate fast.

People of the Odisha have been growing increasingly disenchanted with the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD’s long ineffective rule and are inspired by the popular programmes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pradhan said here on the occasion of the joining of a section of the BJD members in the BJP.

Besides, popular Ollywood comedian Harihar Mohapatra also came to the BJP fold at a Misrana Parva (joining party) held at the State party headquarters.

Along with BJD members, former Angul district Congress president Pratap Pradhan also joined the BJP.

Recently, Biju Chhatra Janta Dal (BCJD) general secretary Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra had also joined the BJP.

On the other hand, BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb pooh-poohed Pradhan’s claim of the BJP growing at the cost of the BJD and said the ruling party is devising its right strategy for the 2019 general elections.
