BJD stir meant to divert attention from misrule: Cong

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday flayed the ruling BJD's State-wide stir from April 26 against the "step-motherly" attitude of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre in providing grants to the State.

He dubbed it as nothing but a ploy to divert the attention of the people of the State from their administrative ineptitude. The PCC chief said the BJD has taken a plea for a strike in the name of Central neglect to cover up its own failure in all the respects during the 13-year- rule in the State.

"The State Government has failed to place the required demand in right time at right place for which it could not get the Central fund at par with Bihar under the BRGF," he said.

He criticised the Government for not being able to utilize the Central funds in other schemes and submit utilization certificates (UCs) in due time for the funds spent in the State.
