BJD shedding crocodile tears, says Congress

PCC president Prasad Harichandan on Friday demanded that both the Union and State Governments lower their respective taxes on petrol and diesel soon so that the prices of essential commodities and transportation cost would come down.

“As the prices of essential commodities have already skyrocketed, the Centre should withdraw its taxes on petrol and diesel and the State Government should bring down VAT percentage to 5 per cent,” said Harichandan at a Press conference here.

Commenting on Biju Yuva Janata Dal’s strike against fuel price hike, Harichandan said, “The State Government is imposing a higher tax that has impacted prices of essential commodities. It is shedding crocodile tears only.”
