The Narsinghpur block unit of the BJD on Saturday orgnaised the party’s Jan Sampark Padayatra here on Saturday.
Industries and School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra inaugurated the rally at Kacheri Chhak. The Padayatra, in which about 4,000 party workers participated, moved around the town. The workers were shouting slogans against the alleged Central neglect and haling the Naveen Patnaik Government for taking pro-people schemes.
Among others, Zilla Parishad Member Kishore Chandra Mishra, block chairperson Sukanti Jena, Nalini Mohanty, Nirmal Kumar Jena and party’s Narasinghpur block president Krupasindhu Dash participated.
The Padayatra would continue till Jayaprakash Narayan’s birthday on October 11, the Minister said.
