District Biju Janta Dal president and WODC Chairman Kishore Kumar Mohanty led an agitation on Wednesday against the Chhattisgarh Government alleging that the latter is constructing a number of small and large dams and barrages over the Mahanadi without intimating the Odisha Government.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma, former Ministers Pramila Mallick, Mangla Kishan and Bimadhar Kuanr, MP Prasanna Acharya, Textile Minister Snehangini Chhuriya, Bargarh MP Prabhash Singh, Deputy Chief Whip Rohit Pujari, lift Irrigation Corporation Chairman Anup Kumar Sai, former Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak and BJD State secretary Manoranjan Mohapatra were present.
They also alleged that the Central Government instead of restraining the Chhattisgarh Government is colluding with the latter due to political
reasons.
The leaders also said the Odisha Government would not tolerate such bullying attitude and would take possible recourse to protect the interests of the people of Odisha.
