The move to review the implementation of the Central projects in Odisha by Union Ministers who would be present during the BJP national executive meeting in Bhubaneswar on April 15 and 16 seems to have unnerved the State’s BJD Government.
That the review would be held in Bhubaneswar was disclosed by BJP State general secretary Prithwiraj Harichandan to the media here on Thursday.
BJP State leaders have a number of times alleged that the Central schemes and the funds sanctioned for the programmes are not being properly utilised in the State by the BJD Government.
BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said though it is an internal matter of the BJP to hold its national executive meeting anywhere, review of the Central Government’s welfare schemes by the bureaucrats accompanying the Union Ministers is not ethical. The move is a political one to find holes in the State Government’s performances, he remarked.
An apparently unnerved Deb hastened to add that whatever the BJP may do, “the State Government stable; the BJD is stable”. However, Harischandan pointed out that such reviews are being done in the whole country and not in Odisha only.
