BJD MPs protest Polavaram in lS

Published on:

BJD members on Monday staged a protest in the lok Sabha in New Delhi against the Polavaram project of Andhra Pradesh alleging that parts of Odisha would be submerged if it comes into being.

Members from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and BJD were on their feet soon after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh laid papers in the House as required by the Speaker.

While the TRS members were carrying placards against the Ordinance concerning the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, those from the BJD held placards against the Polavaram project.

The members holding placards against the project walked into the well of the House. Even though Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked the members to resume their seats, they continued to protest. She had to adjourn the House for the day.
