BJD making wild allegations: Cong

Published on:

The Congress on Sunday reiterated that despite all the personal attacks made by the BJD while denouncing Congress leaders’ Press conferences and statements on the Mamita Meher case, the party would continue its battle until Mamita’s family gets justice.

In a media conference, party spokesperson Manoj Mohapatra  said it is unfortunate that the BJD is making all-out efforts to underplay the State-wide protest over the Mamita issue, trying to cover up the involvement of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra and even using a police DIG to influence the investigations.

Mohaptra clarified that the image and documents shown in a BJD Press conference were of before 2013, by which time former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das’ son had already left the Mahaling College Trust.

He added that a number of cases of atrocities and injustice against women are in public domain in which BJD Ministers and leaders are involved. It’s time the Chief Minister should show his so-called clean image and order an inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the Mamita case.
