Some leaders and activists of ruling BJD on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the office of the district Collector here alleging what they called “massive irregularities” in awarding works tenders at the IOC’s oil refinery at Paradip.
Submitting a memorandum to the President of India through the district collector, the BJD activists demanded removal of Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Taking lead of the agitation Cuttack-Choudwar MlA Pravat Biswal also made some allegations saying the local BJP leaders of the city are also involved in these irregularities.
Reacting sharply to the BJD MlA’s allegations, city BJP leader and former minister Samir Dey said, “The MlA was making such wild allegations only to divert the attention of the people from the chit fund hit the ruling BJD is now facing across the State.”
