The BJP on Thursday alleged that the law and order situation has worsened in Ganjam and Brahmpuar police districts because police are not taking any action against criminals at the behest of BJD leaders.
“While criminals have been committing offences at best of BJD leaders, Ganjam SP and other police officers have turned to be protection entities for the criminals,” alleged party leader Pitambar Acharya.
Acharya alleged that two accused in the Kureshu Gauda killing at Digapahandi, Sanjaya Panigrahi and Thesa Kalia, are moving freely now as they have direct link with Minister Surjya Narayan Patro and Usha Devi and former Minister Pradeep Panigrahi. He too showed some photographs in support of his allegation.
He wanted to know the mystery behind the ongoing police encounter in which criminals have only received bullet injuries in their legs.
“We demand a impartial inquiry into the allegation of BJD leaders protecting criminals using cops. And it should be made public with which BJD leaders have links with SP Ashish Singh,” demanded Acharya.
