Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday slammed the ruling BJD saying that it is opposed to the initiatives of the NDA Government to recover the black money stashed away.
Addressing meetings at different places in Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Kandhmal districts to garner support for the BJP candidates in the second phase of the panchayat poll to be held on February 15, Pradhan said the people of State are unable to get their dues for the inefficiency of the Naveen-led BJD Government.
He said the BJD has opposed an advertisement in Odisha papers about voluntary disclosure of unaccounted income.
“The advertisement called for disclosure of unaccounted income and depositing tax on it. The BJD is opposing the advertisement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to spend the tax collected for Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, rural electrification schemes, developing health infrastructure and providing drinking water facilities,” Pradhan said.
The Union Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers him as a servant of the people of the country. “But BJD leaders feel proud as servant of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik,” he added.
The Minister alleged that the State Government has failed to deliver and pushed the State backward. “Agriculture sector is in distress and education and health sectors dilapidated in the 17-year rule of the BJD,” Pradhan added.
Seeking a reply from the State Government over the fate of the Rajas Medical College, he said it has announced to set up another Medical College in Kalahandi. “But has the Government sought a permission in this regard,” he asked.
