BJD Govt not for poor, says BJP

The BJP on Tuesday slammed the State Government for incurring increased amounts of loans and putting burden on citizens.

“Due to lack of foresight, the State Government has been incurring loans every year. It is disappointing that the State Government is spending a lot for self-propaganda,” alleged BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan.

Harichandan alleged that only BJD activists and supporters are getting benefits of the State Government schemes. The State Government has failed in providing houses to poor, education to children and health services to common people during its 18 years of rule.

“When the Naveen Patnaik Government came to power in State in 2000, the State’s loan burden was Rs 18,000 crore. But now the loan burden has reached 90,000 crore. Hence, now a child is born with a loan burden of Rs 20,000 in the State,” pointed out Harichandan.
