BJD Govt deceived B'swar residents: BJP

Published on:

The people of Baleswar have been deceived by the BJD Government although it has been in power for more than two decades. The residents are still deprived of basic facilities  like safe drinking water and road connectivity, alleged party's State general  secretary Golak Mohaptra He said although the Central Government has pumped huge amount of money for development of urban as well as the rural patches of the district, the output was dismal. "The drainage and sewerage mechanism is in a pathetic state. A little shower causes severe waterlogging on the roads and markets. The road conditions are pitiable.

Under AMRUT scheme, although funds are provided yet safe and adequate drinking water is a day dream for the denizens. As a result, they are forced to consume unsafe drinking water," Mahapatra slammed.

He alleged  that corruption in all departments  has become the order of the day and the benefits of Government schemes are extended  to the beneficiaries on party basis. A large-scale corruption has taken place  in the  identification of beneficiaries  under  Awas Yojana and toilet constructions.  As such, several genuine beneficiaries  of the State are deprived of benefits  under Ayushman and PM Kisan schemes  due to noncooperation of State Government, he charged.

Mahapatra in a Press conference on Wednesday  told that the promises of the Chief Minister ahead of the by-election in Baleswar Sadar for all round development have proved hollow. BJP district president Umakanta Mohapatra and other functionaries including Shipra Vajpayee, Sobhana Mohanty , Subhankar Mohapatra, Srinibas Pradhan and Parsuram Parida were present.
