The BJD on Monday lodged an FIR against the BJP for dropping its earlier promise of Special Category Status (SCS) to Odisha in its 2019 election manifesto for the State, which was unveiled by party national president Amit Shah here on Sunday.
A delegation of the BJD submitted an FIR to the Kharvela Nagar police station IIC accusing the BJP of cheating 4.5 crore people of the State as it has dropped the SCS promise in its 2019 manifesto
According to the complaint, in the BJP’s 2014 election manifesto, the party had promised that if it had been voted to power, it would provide SCS to Odisha. But when the party came to power at the Centre, it forgot its promise.
This cheating has been proved when in the 2019 election manifesto, the BJP dropped the very aspect of SCS which it had as the number-1 point on the first page of its 2014 manifesto, the BJD stated.
