Around 20,000 college students will participate at the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) State-level ‘digital’ convention to be held at the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Sabha Ground here on January 20. According to the BCJD president Byomakesh Ray the convention will be telecasted live through the party’s website www.bjdodisha.org.in is the first of its kind in the State.
“People can watch the convention and listen to the leaders, including Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik’s address live through party’s website. Projectors will also be installed outside the venue as a result people can watch the convention,” Ray told mediapersons here. Ray said since BJD-supported candidates have won in around 95 per cent of colleges in the State in College Union polls, it is imperative to assemble them at one place in order to make them sensitise about different measure being taken by the State Government for the betterment of education sectors and youths.
“The main of organising such a hi-tech convention is to strengthen the student and youth power in grassroots level,” Ray added. The one-day convention will be addressed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik along with many senior leaders. To make people of the capital city aware about such a convention, around 300 college girls will hold a motorcycle rally in Bhubaneswar, said Ray.
