BJD spokesperson Samir Dash said that as the BJD has announced its support to Kovind, the MlAs and MPs should be present at the meeting.

Kovind is also scheduled to meet BJP legislators on the day at the BJP legislature Party leader KV Singh Deo’s house here.

When asked about the possibility of the BJD’s support to the NDA’s Vice-Presidential candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi, Dash said party supremo Naveen Patnaik would take a final decision after discussions with senior party leaders.

When questioned about the known friendship between Gandhi and Naveen Patnaik, he said friendship and politics are two different things.
