The BJP on Monday alleged that the BJD has resorted to methods of violence after failing to resolve the lawyers’ strike which is underway for over two months hitting the justice delivery system in the State.
“After failing to find out a way out to resolve the lawyers’ issue, the State Government is now trying to create a division in lawyers.
The State Government is fully responsible for the untoward incident occurred in the High Court premises due to forcible entry of BJD Legal Forum members,” alleged BJP vice-president Sameer Mohanty.
Mohanty said the State Government sat silent while the courts remained nonfunctional for the last two months and has now started doing politics using the BJD Legal Forum. He alleged the BJD deployed Biju Yuba Vahini members to attack and misbehave lawyers.
He demanded that the State Government should find out a way to resolve the problem and end the lawyers’ strike in the interest of the people of the State.
