The ruling BJD on Friday alleged before the State Election Commission that local news channel OTV violated the model code of conduct by telecasting an advertisement on Swachh Bharat programme while the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has put a restriction in this regard in compliance with the SEC direction.
The party requested the Commission to initiate appropriate action against the concerned channel/s and persons/officials responsible for telecast of this advertisement.
BJD general secretary Debasish Samantaray, MlA Priyadarshi Mishra and State BYJD spokesperson Bijaya Nayak submitted the video recording of the advertisement to the SEC.
