A well-known hotelier here succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. Sajjan Mittal had been attacked by unknown miscreants near DAV Lane while he was returning home late on Tuesday night. A profusely-bleeding Mittal, the owner of Hotel Basera, was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here. However, he died while undergoing treatment. The attending doctors pronounced him dead at around 3 am. Brain hemorrhage and excessive blood loss was said to be the reason behind his death. His postmortem report would shed light on the exact reason of death, whether he was hit on head or was also shot. The Plant Site police are investigating into the incident. Sources said that business rivalry could be one of the reasons behind the attack on Mittal.
