Bishnu to lead BJD workers to PM's Paradip meeting

Published on:

BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has apparently entrusted Jagatsinghpur BJD president Bishnu Das the responsibility of welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Paradip on February 7 on behalf of the party.

It is so convinced from Das’ recent visit to the meeting venue where he discussed with some party workers and noted labour leader Santosh Kumar Patnaik, who has recently joined the BJD with members of six local organisations.

It may be noted that earlier on January 28, Paradip MlA and Minister Dr Damodar Rout had presided over such a meeting wherein Health Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das, Ersama and Balikuda MlA Prasanta Kumar Muduli, Kendrapada MlA Kishore Tarai, Tirtol MlA Dr Rajshree Mallick and all local BJD leaders were present.

Das told reporters that the Chief Minister has advised him to organise party workers to welcome the Prime Minister who would inaugurate the IOCl’s Paradip refiner on February 7.

He said BJD workers from Cuttack district led by MlAs Debasish Samantaray, Pravat Kumar Biswal, Chandra Sarathi Behera and Pramod Mallick and from Ersama-Balikuda led by MlA Prasanta Kumar Muduli will come to the meeting place.

Santosh Patnaik, a bête noire of Paradip MlA and Excise Minister Dr Damodar Rout, said over 15,000 members belonging to six organisations will come to witness the Prime Minister’s programme under the leadership of BJD district president Bishnu Das.
